Entries Due Today for the Optimist Club’s Essay and Oratorical Contests

Time is running out for area students to submit their entries to the Knoxville Optimist Club’s essay and oratorical contests. Students who were 18 or younger on December 31st of last year are invited to write a 700-800 word essay about “how my education is the key to a successful future” or a 4-5 minute speech about “if I were a leader of the free world the first issue I would address would be…”. Winners of the local contest will receive $200 and be able to continue on to the next level of competition. Entries must be submitted by today.
