Local business leaders are being involved in the Obama Administration’s economic policy planning. Vermeer Corporation CEO Mary Andringa is a member of the President’s Export Council. Andringa says the PEC is working on ways to increase exports and create more jobs. President Obama has said he wants the country to double exports over the next five years. She says administration officials visited Vermeer for a roundtable discussion with business leaders to gain their input on what they need to increase their export productivity. Andringa is on the committee for small and medium sized companies, and will present the findings of that committee in a letter to the President.
