After tripling the previous year’s donation total in 2010, Knoxville knew they were going to have to step it up in order to make this year’s Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser bigger and better than ever. Though admission and concession stand money is still being totaled, an incredible $22,000 has already been collected this year for the American Cancer Society. More than 1,500 people attended Saturday’s events which included alumni basketball games, a silent auction, airplane toss and varsity basketball games versus Carlisle. After raising $12,000 last year, Knoxville was the top Coaches vs. Cancer in Iowa, a tradition that will likely continue this year as well.
