The Knoxville Boys Bowling squad has qualified for the state tournament for the first time in the program’s brief history. The Panthers edged out their main nemesis for most of the season Norwalk by a mere 24 pins. Knoxville knocked down a total of 2,544 pins to Norwalk 2,520, Pella Christian finished in fourth place. Jacob Weldon led Knoxville with a 368 series and Daniel Goad also medaled in sixth place with a 352 series. The Panthers will turn their attention to the state tournament which is this Thursday at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines. The Panthers will be joined by Western Dubuque, Oelwein, Mount Pleasant, Red Oak, North Scott, Comanche, Denison, Waverly-Shell Rock, and Creston. The girls finished fourth and Pella Christian came in fifth. Jocelyn Beaver finished fourth individually with a 299 series.
