Local Wrestlers Do Well at State Tournament

Five area wrestlers were able to stand on the victory platform at the State Wrestling Meet Saturday night. Knoxville’s Jay Fresh took sixth place at 103 pounds while Skylar Spaur placed eighth at 171 pounds. Pleasantville had a very good weekend getting two of three wrestlers on the medal stand. 140 pounder Wes Prill and 145 pound grappler Tasker Phillips both finished in fourth place. P-C-M’s lone wrestler to make it to the final day of competition was Dalton Kingery as he finished in seventh place.

In addition, the Knoxville Boys Bowling Squad qualified for the state tournament on Saturday. The Panthers won the sub state at Fairlane Bowl in Knoxville. The state tournament is Thursday at Plaza Lanes in Des Monies.
