Last fall a new city board was established in Knoxville, one that allows our youngest residents to voice their opinion on issues in the community. After months of planning, several applications and a set of interviews the Mayor’s Youth Council has been established. Students Katelyn Douglas, Jordan Richardson, Mary Cunningham, Brandon Hall, Kelsey Willardson, Aimee Grubb, Maria Diminet and Shuana Schmitt have been selected for the council.

Mayor Don Zoutte says this is something he’s very excited about and one of the first tasks the youth council will do is help build awareness about the Local Option Sales and Services Tax renewal election on March 1st.
