Earlier this month the Iowa Senate and House Republicans, along with the Governor’s office started the Re-Open Iowa for Business: Rules and Regulations tour and Senate Minority Leader Paul McKinley says things are going phenomenal thus far. He says hundreds of Iowans have attended the events and spoke their frustrations about how regulations imposed by agencies such as the Department of Natural Resources have made running their business more difficult and expensive. McKinley says while rules and regulations are needed to protect the public, unelected bureaucrats have simply gone too far and are ruining Iowa’s economy. He says the goal of the tour is to get public input and install some common sense into the process. The tour continues Friday in Sioux City and Council Bluffs.
