A return trip to the boys Class 3A State Basketball Tournament is on the line in Ottumwa tonight, as the Pella High Little Dutch face the Mount Pleasant Panthers in a substate showdown.

Pella enters the game with a 19-3 overall record after Thursday’s fourth quarter rally led them past Williamsburg, 68-56.  Mount Pleasant is 21-2 overall after handily defeating Keokuk 60-37 to advance out of District 11.

Recent history between the two teams ads an additional storyline to the game, as the Little Dutch handed the Panthers one of their two losses this season with a narrow 56-54 win on December 4th; and also knocked them out of last year’s State Tournament with a 55-42 win in the 3A Semifinals.

The Substate game between Pella High and Mount Pleasant will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall and Randy Sikkema providing the call.  Coverage from Ottumwa begins at 6:40 p.m. on 92.1 fm KRLS and on kniakrls.com, with tip-off between the Little Dutch and the Panthers set for 7:00 p.m.
