Local students got an extra dose of physical education Monday morning. Several schools in the Pella Community got a visit from the non-profit group PE4Life, which helps schools establish additional physical education activities and funding for equipment. Tracey Murphy, elementary physical education instructor for Pella Community Schools says the organization helps provide a new way to look at physical education. She says the group works with educators to provide new and different physical fitness techniques like “brain breaks” where students take a short break during regular class time for a short exercise session. Murphy says Pella Schools has worked with the group for about a year, but this was the first time they had the group come for an in-service session.
