The Marion County Public Health Department recently held their Give Kids a Smile day clinics in Pella and Pleasantville where roughly three dozen children were able to get free dental care. Though the event is over, Marion County children can still take advantage of the I-Smile program to help find their dental home. Dental Hygienist Katie McBurney says though the program primarily targets kids 12 and younger it does also include anyone who under 21 years old and pregnant mothers. McBurney says though routine check ups and working with dentists in the area the goal is to get all kids into the dentist on a regular basis. Those who would like more information on the program can call the Marion County Public Health Department at 828-2238.
