After running roughshod through Region 6 in Class 2A, the Pella Christian girls are just a day away from beginning play at the Girls State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines.  Awaiting the Lady Eagles is Estherville-Lincoln Central; a squad that toppled No.3-ranked Carroll Kuemper to earn their way into the final eight spots in the postseason.

Neither team was ranked in the final Class 2A girls basketball poll, and Pella Christian may have been playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder as they won their four regional games by an average of 28.25 points.  The Lady Eagles are 20-4 entering the state quarterfinals, while the Midgets carry a 21-4 overall record into the tournament.

The two teams take to the court for the second game of the morning session on Tuesday, with tip-off at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines slated for around 11:45 am.
