Two Transported After a Two Vehicle Accident in Knoxville

At 1:09pm yesterday the Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue and the Iowa State Patrol have responded to a two vehicle accident in Knoxville. According to Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada he accident occurred on Lincoln Street near the entrance to the VA and Young’s Park where a pickup truck driven by James Zoutte of rural Knoxville was traveling northbound on Lincoln Street when he crossed the center line and struck the driver’s side of a midsize sedan driven by Danise Hyatt of Knoxville. Hyatt had to extracted from the vehicle by mechanical means and both drivers were transported to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics where they both remain in stable condition. The investigation on the accident continues and charges are possible.

The accident blocked traffic on Lincoln Street between Pleasant and Rock Island for approximately one hour as crews treated injuries and cleaned up the scene.
