A proposal to reduce income taxes could increase revenues, says State Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven. He says the cut would enable local business to reinvest those saved dollars into growing their businesses or adding jobs. The representative says when the state passed a 10% across the board reduction in income tax ten years ago, the state saw increased revenues as a result. He says the proposal is a contentious one at the statehouse, but feels the move is a positive step in improving Iowa’s economy.
