Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer has concerns about restricting the number of Superintendents per county to one. Wittmer says the concept of consolidating the position regardless of number of students involved doesn’t make much sense from a practical standpoint. He says many districts could be joined together, but that needs are much different in each county. Marv Van Wyk, President of the Pella School Board says a proposal like this takes more control over schools from the districts. He says each district is unique in the way it educates students, and this move would not be a positive benefit to students.
