Three area girls basketball players were named the Iowa Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State Teams. In class 2A Pella Christian’s Jasmin Schelhaas was named to the first team. Schelhaas led the Eagles to the state tournament this season. She averaged nearly 13 points per game and made 78% of her free throws. Named to the second team was P-C-M’s Jordan Wood. Wood led the Mustangs to a 17-6 record. She also snared 184 rebounds and averaged 14.2 points per game. In class 3A Knoxville’s Alex Abens was named to the third team. Abens led was the Panthers’ point guard this season averaging just over 13 points per game, she also dealt out a team high 61 assists.
