Farm Bureau’s Ag In The Classroom event is being held Thursday at the Vermeer Complex in Pella. Fourth graders from Pella, Knoxville, Melcher-Dallas, Twin Cedars, and home-schooled students will have an opportunity to learn about how a modern farm operates. Larry Rowley of the Marion County Farm Bureau says it’s important for kids to know the role that farming and agriculture play in the community and the economy. Nine stations will be in place giving the students lessons on a variety of topics like technology in farm machinery, food safety, animal health and conservation, among others. Ag In The Classroom starts at 9 am Thursday.
