Despite early wins in singles play, the Central College men’s tennis team was unable to come away with a victory on Saturday at Grinnell College, as they suffered a 5-4 loss to Carroll University before falling to the host team 8-1.
Central’s victories against Carroll came from Dan Bowser, Seth Harris and Bryn Boswell at Numbers 1, 2 and 3 singles, along with the tandem of Bowser and Harris at Number 1 doubles, but the Dutch came up empty in the other spots.
Against Grinnell, the only victory for the Dutch came from freshman Kyle Freischlag at Number 4 singles, while Central was swept in doubles play.
The men’s squad will remain off until spring break when they head to Texas to start play on March 14th. Central is 2-8 so far this spring.
