The Central Softball team extended their winning steak to 10 games last night.

Left fielder Emily Te Brink lined a clutch game-tying triple down the right field line in the bottom of the seventh inning, then slid home with the winner on a squeeze bunt as the Central College softball team escaped Marian 5-4 Friday night.

Earlier Central outslugged Denison 16-7. Te Brink reached base in all nine of her plate appearances in the two games and scored five runs, including four against Denison.

The Dutch meet Otterbein and Carleton at 6 and 8 p.m, respectively. Central’s 16-game slate at the Tucson Invitational concludes Saturday.

The Dutch are now ranked #11 in the NFCA Division III poll.

An audio webcast of tonight’s 6 p.m. game with Otterbein will be offered through www.kniakrls.com.
