Central College’s men’s and women’s tennis teams are among several of the Dutch athletic programs that have planned an active spring break in the southern states. Both squads will face a trio of Texas schools in hopes of improving for their remaining contests against Iowa Conference teams.

The Central men are 2-8 at the midway point of their regular season and will tackle the University of Texas-Dallas Monday; Howard Payne University on Tuesday; and face 2010 National Junior College champion Tyler Community College on Wednesday. The three schools sport a combined record of 16-7.

It won’t be any easier for the Central women’s tennis team, as Texas-Dallas and Tyler each boast impressive records as well, while Howard Payne is 1-5. During the trip the Dutch have also planned a few team activities and a stop for practice at the 24-court Oklahoma City Tennis Center at Will Rogers Park.
