Central College’s Kalen Greiner battled his way through two hard-fought matches on the mat, but ultimately came up short, as he was eliminated yesterday in the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The 125-pound freshman lost by one point in the opening round to Mack Drees of Wisconsin-Platteville, before falling in a 13-7 decision to Max Cohen of Ithaca College in the consolation bracket.

Greiner finishes his debut season with the Dutch with a 17-13 record, and was the first Central College wrestler to qualify for the national tournament since 2004.
