The Knoxville Fire and Rescue department will be hosting an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic course this summer. According to Fire Chief Mike Roberts has been nearly 4 years since the department has hosted this class. Roberts says they are fortunate to have new member Lee Richardson now on board, who’s primary job is teaching such courses at Mercy College. Roberts says he sent out an email to emergency personnel in the county last week and has had a great response thus far. He says this just proves that EMS in the area is stepping up their service which will prove to be beneficial to the communities they serve.
