Most Farms in Marion County are Family Farms

While the general trend in agriculture is toward larger and fewer farms, Marion County still has approximately 1,000 active farms. David Greving, Vice President with the Marion County Bank says that while there might be great differences in the sizes of farms in the county, most are still family operations. While there are national and international organizations that lend money to farmers, most farmers in Marion County continue to work with local banks.
