Improvements, Cameraderie Measure Success for Pella Girls

Though the ending of their postseason journey came sooner than the Pella girls basketball team had hoped for, there were still a number of ways that the 2010-2011 season was a successful one for the Lady Dutch.  Head Coach Jerod Garland said the season featured several special moments on and off the court for his squad.

“[We] had a lot of fun on the court and a lot of success.  We had an eleven-game winning streak along the way, and the girls, I thought, improved – especially defensively – as the season went on,” said Garland.

“I thought we enjoyed each other well on the floor, and in the locker room the girls got along well.  That’s really the key; the girls made some great memories and hopefully can look back later and really have fond memories about this year.”

The Lady Dutch finished the season with an overall record of 19-4 after reaching the Class 3A Regional Finals.
