With the coldest part of winter behind us, many people are anxious to get outside and perhaps begin the year’s lawn work. Steve Vermeer with the Pella Nursery says this is the time of year to begin cleaning up in preparation of spring planting. He says one thing that can be done is to start pruning fruit trees and shrubs. Vermeer says the amount of snowfall this winter should contribute to a good growing season, if it doesn’t get too wet this spring.
