When the 2011/2012 season comes around on November, for the second straight season it will be a very different Knoxville Girls Basketball squad. Only two players with any varsity experience played this season and that was seniors Katie Ayers and Alex Abens. While both will be gone next season, the Panthers’ roster will be filled b several sophomores and juniors. Once again only two seniors with any playing experience will hit the floor, and that will be Ellie Hawkshead and Hannah Rosenkrantz. Coach Jim Utiermarkt says he will need to find a point guard to replace the departed Alex Abens. Right now Utiermarkt says there is no definite players in mind. He says during the offseason he plans to use more regimented work in the gym while still going to team camps in the summer. Knoxville finished with a 7-15 record this season.
