Lake Red Rock is filling back up for another recreation season. Assistant Director John Holt of the Army Corps of Engineers says his forecast predicts the level of the lake will be a couple feet below its normal level on or around March 29th . Holt says that what can be referred to as the normal level is actually a conservation pool, which the Corps is required to maintain. That level only changes to combat flooding down river, in which case the level goes up, or if there is a draught and levels go down. Holt says it’s difficult to accurately predict exactly when the lake will be back to a normal level this time of year, as mother nature tends to be unpredictable in the spring.
