Seven local girls basketball players were selected to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association all-district teams. In class 3A, three players from Marion County earned all-district. From Pella it was Makenzie Vander Molen, who led the team in scoring and Kelsey Fynhardt, who led the Lady Dutch in rebounding and from Knoxville it was Alex Abens. Abens led Knoxville with over 13 points per game. In class 1A Alee Hugen from Twin Cedars was on the South all-District. Hugen averaged 16 points per and grabbed 176 rebounds. In class 2A three players were selected from the area, Jasmin Schelhaas from Pella Christian, who was a major force in the Eagles run to the class 2A state tournament. Konner Gordon from Pleasantville, who at five/four was the team’s leading rebounder with 150, and Jordan Wood from P-C-M. Wood averaged 14 points and eight rebounds this season.
