Customers of the Red Rock Lake Marina have been sent a letter from the law offices representing the Polk County Bank, which is currently owed more than a million dollars by the Marina, which is in receivership. The letter directs Marina customers to make any payments to Ruhl and Ruhl Commercial Company in West Des Moines, the company that will manage the assets of the Marina through a court order. As previously reported on KNIA/KRLS News, on February 21st the Iowa District Court in Marion County appointed Ruhl and Ruhl the receivers of the Marina following a lawsuit of the Polk County Bank versus the Marina, Mark Bockenstedt, the US Army Corps of Engineers and others. KNIA/KRLS exchanged e mails with staff of the Marina, and was told the owner of the Marina is Mr. Bockenstedt, however, according to the Secretary of State’s website, a certificate of dissolution for the company operating the Marina was issued last August. Kurt Mumm, President of the Des Moines Region of Ruhl and Ruhl says they hope to have the issue resolved, and that the Marina will be open this spring. KNIA/KRLS News will continue to follow this story and report further developments as they become official.
