A Colfax woman was killed in a two vehicle accident two miles west of Sully yesterday morning. The Iowa State Patrol reports that 54 year old Sheryl Hopkins of Colfax was traveling westbound on County road F62 when she crossed the center line, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Jeremy Whitson, age 20 of Newton. Whitson was transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital with unspecified injuries. Hopkins received fatal injuries in the head-on accident. The case remains under investigation, and charges are pending.
