Pella High Student Makes Top 5 At Poetry Out Loud

A Pella High School student is one of 15 from around the state who competed in the Iowa Poetry Out Loud Competition on Saturday. Kelly Anderson, a Junior at Pella High School started from a pool of 1,562 students and made the final five before being eliminated on Saturday. Anderson read “Candles” by Carl Dennis, “The Enigma” by Anne Stevenson and “Sonnet CXVI: Let me not to the Marriage of True Minds” by William Shakespeare
