2011 is off to another busy start for the Knoxville Fire and Rescue Department. During the first three months of the year, the department has responded to 329 total patent contacts. This includes 220 actual emergent calls for service, 33 non-emergent return trips and 30 emergency transports to an outside facility. By this time last year the department responded to 291 calls for service. Overall, 2010 was the busiest year yet for Knoxville Fire and Rescue as they responded to a total of 1,315 total patient contacts.
