Turning in the kind of showing coach Steve Tyler envisioned in the preseason, the Central College men’s tennis team shut out Simpson College 9-0 Tuesday.
After sweeping the doubles competition, the Dutch won five of six singles matches in straight sets.
Dan Bowser had the longest match, outlasting Adam Summitt 5-7, 6-2, 10-6. Tyler also singled out Seth Harris for a significant victory at No. 2, 6-4, 6-0.
Central (8-12 overall, 7-11 spring) closes out the dual meet season Saturday at Storm Lake against Buena Vista Univ. (3-8) starting at 11 a.m.
