Led by second baseman Angela Davis, the Central College softball team peppered Loras for a total of 16 hits en route to a sweep of the Duhawks, 5-0 and 4-1 on Sunday.  Davis had three hits and scored three runs for the No. 3-ranked Dutch, helping them stay perfect in the Iowa Conference at 8-0 and 27-3 overall.
The pitching for Central was strong yet again, as Kiley Lythberg tossed her third shutout of the season in the opener, striking out seven Loras batters to improve her record to 12-2.  In the nightcap, Rhianna Fleetwood kept her unblemished record intact, improving to 8-0 in relief of Brie Haycraft, who pitched the game’s first four innings.
The sweep of Loras comes at a crucial time for the Central softball team, as they enter a big week with No. 9-rated Coe College coming to Pella on Tuesday and No. 11 Luther following on Saturday.
