Knoxville and Pella was scheduled to travel to the Bluejay Invitational at Bondurant-Farrar for girls track last night. That event was cancelled. The Panthers will have to wait until today’s Montezuma Invitational for their first track and field action in almost a week-and-a-half. They should be well rested after not having a meet last week. Coach Jeremy Van Engen says that could work both ways. He ads they were able to work out a little more last week…but he says a meet would have been nice to have. One thing he has been pleased with is his younger runners. He says Freshmen Jenci Ruff, Tory Johnson, and Laney Cushman have all ran very well this season. Van Engen says Cushman sliced nearly four second off her split in the 200 at the Panther Relays on April ninth. He says many of the freshmen have stepped up in key moments to gain valuable points in meets.
