With all the rain we’ve had lately and temperatures on the rise, it’s about that time for morel mushrooms to appear and hunters are already on the lookout. Marion County Extension Office Program Director Dale Miller says it will take a few more days of warm weather for the conditions to be favorable for the much desired fungus though it shouldn’t be long. Miller says areas with early sun penetration, under decaying wood and organic matter and along streams are good places to hunt.
