The Marion County Sheriff’s Office will soon have a new Chief Deputy. As previously reported by KNIA/KRLS news former Chief Deputy Mel Vander Weil officially retired on April 5th and since then Sheriff Ron Goemaat has been weighing his options to find a replacement. Deputy Troy Fisher has been selected to fill the position. Fisher’s appointment is scheduled to be approved by the Marion County Board of Supervisors at their meeting Monday morning.
