Now is the Time to Fertilize and Apply Weed Preventer

April showers may bring May flowers though they can also be help weeds grow as well. Therefore, now is the time to help prevent unwanted species from growing in your lawns. Dale Miller, Program Director at the Marion County ISU Extension Office encourages using a fertilizer with a crabgrass preventer if you’ve had weed issues in the past. He says crabgrass is a warmer season weed but the fertilizer and prevent should be applied prior to germination and recommends doing so by the end of the month.
