Tukker Bogaard assisted on the only two goals that the Pella boys soccer team would need, as the Little Dutch downed Newton 2-0 in Pella’s first conference match of the season. A stiff east wind made it difficult to move the ball for much of the contest, keeping the majority of the game play on the west side of the field.
Bogaard’s first assist set up a 68-foot goal from Deckar Lynch with ten minutes remaining in the first half. Pella would hold the one-goal advantage until near the 12 minute mark in the second half, when Brennan Mejia scored on a well-placed pass in the box from Bogaard.
The Pella boys are now 3-1 overall this season and are back on the pitch tonight at Dallas Center Grimes.
