It was an impressive evening on the oval for the girls track and field teams from the Tulip City as Pella High and Pella Christian finished 1-2 in Tuesday’s PC Girls Invitational.  The Lady Dutch finished with 175 team points, while Pella Christian tallied 115.  Pleasantville finished in 8th place with 14 points.

Pella’s Nadine VanZomeren took individual gold in the 200 and was on the winning 4×200, 4×400 and Sprint Medley relay teams and was named the meet’s outstanding female performer as she led the Lady Dutch to victory.  The only relay event not won by Pella High was the 4×100 meters, which went to Pella Christian.

Individual winners for the Lady Dutch also included Maddy Scholten in the 800 meters, Mariah Vande Lune in the 1500 meters and Hanna Martin took the 3000 meter run.

Host Pella Christian, meanwhile, got gold medal performances individually from Lynelle De Bruin in the 400 meter hurdles and Jasmin Schelhaas and Kate Van Gilst went 1-2 in the 100 meter dash.

Pleasantville’s McKay Knutsen took first in the discus.
