The Pleasantville School Board chose to implement a different kind of schedule this year that they hoped would save the district money. Students, faculty and staff held extended days during the first semester of the current school year so that they could have four day weeks after the first of the year. Superintendent Dave Isgrig tells KNIA/KRLS news the 4-day schedule is going fine and they are currently conducting a survey to find out how parents and staff feel about the change in order to determine whether or not to continue the program. He says though the final numbers are not in yet, they believe the district is saving considerably on transportation and utility costs by not having school on Mondays.
