Rescheduled Tournament Provides Needed Experience for Pella Girls Tennis

After nearly a week away from competition, the Pella girls tennis team will return to action this afternoon with a tournament at Indianola. The meet was originally scheduled for Friday, but cool temperatures and rain forced the postponement of the meet.
Lady Dutch Head Coach Megan Clayberg says she was glad the tournament was re-scheduled to allow her players more experience in tournament play.
“It gives the top ten in the middle of the season to go together, because when the JV season is done, then that’s who it is. That’s who’s left,” says Clayberg. “So they have more time to bond, more time to get to know each other, and more time in a tournament setting to work out the kinks.”
The Pella girls tennis team is 2-1 entering today’s tournament, which kicks off a busy week that also includes a meet against Newton on Tuesday and at Knoxville on Friday.
