Windy conditions limited scoring opportunities in the first forty minutes, but the Pella boys soccer team picked up the tempo in the last half of action to blank Gilbert 6-0 Monday night at the Pella High School Athletic Complex.  
Deckar Lynch scored the first goal of the game with just five minutes remaining the in the opening half; at which point the Gilbert defense picked up its intensity and aggressiveness – ultimately earning two yellow cards in the second half.  
The Little Dutch were also able to take advantage of a penalty kick by Tyler Elliott after a hand ball in the box against the Tigers.  Two goals by Alex De Jong were part of a five-goal run in the second half for Pella; who improves to 2-1 overall this season.  
Up next for the Little Dutch is Newton on Thursday.
