This month’s Sprint Car 101 Third Thursday Series event will honor an Iowa car owner and mechanic. The Salute to Gil Sonner will be held this week and according to Museum Curator Tom Schmeh, it promises to be one of the more entertaining and educational programs they’ve offered as the entire Sonner family has had such a presence here for so long. The event will take place tonight at 7pm on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. All Sprint Car 101 events are free and open to the public.
