The Knoxville Raceway and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum will help open the racing season on April 21st with the Hall of Fame’s Third Thursday Series Sprint Car 101. This month is a salute to Sprint Car Owner Gil Sonner who has been fielding cars at the Knoxville Raceway for four decades. Last season Sonner’s car nearly won the 410 Sprint Car point title with Don Droud Jr. behind the wheel. The Third Thursday Series this month is the day before Practice Night at the Knoxville Raceway. Sprint Car 101 will be April 21st on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum and is free and open to the public and will begin at seven.
