While Twin Cedars is a class one-A school…the girls track and field squad is not afraid to enter the big meets and take on the bigger schools. Case in point, last week Twin Cedars finished a respectable fourth to Pella, Knoxville, and Pella Christian at the Panther Relays. However the Sabers finished in front of 3A schools Chariton, South Tama, and a 4A school in Oskaloosa. Coach Dennis Verploeg says while the girls may not look forward to the challenge…they are beginning to realize the benefits of running in the bigger meets. He says that will help down the road when they get into the Bluegrass Conference, and the 1A Regional at B-G-M in May.
