Marion County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service held a storm spotter training session Thursday night in Knoxville. Emergency Response crews and private citizens alike attended the session that covered the basics of identifying tornadoes, the procedure for reporting them and safety issues. In severe weather events, attendees learned, flash flooding is responsible for more deaths than tornadoes. Find more information from the National Weather Service here.
