Well, the rumors are true. Knoxville Raceway Race Director Ralph Capitani has officially announced his retirement after 44 years at the track. When asked about the rumors Cappy responded that he felt that after 44 years at the track he was ready to retire. He doesn’t have future plans finalized, and he said that he would like to thank the community for all of their support over the years, and that he met many wonderful people as part of the job. He adds that though he will be retired, we’ll still see him often at the races. His retirement is effective at the end of the season.
