Season-bests in the men’s 4×100 meter relay and women’s 4×400 meter relay helped the Central College track and field squads cap off a memorable performance at the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday.
The women’s 4×400 team of Jill Ziskovsky, Emily Teas, Rachel Purdy and Felicia Coleman cut more than two seconds off of their own school record to finish second with a time of 3:45.30.  The Dutch men’s 4×100 team of Trevor Veach, Mitch Wagoner, Kyle Wood and Allen Scovel had been seeded sixth in the preliminaries, and lowered their time to 41.35 seconds in the finals to take fifth place.
Central’s seventh-place men’s finish was the program’s sixth national top-10 showing and its highest since placing seventh in 2002. It was the 15th top-25 team finish for the Dutch.  The women’s 17th-place effort was the program’s ninth top-25 national team finish and its highest since taking 14th in 2004.
Central had 11 athletes earn all-America honors in a week highlighted by the one-two decathlon finish of Ethan Miller and Kurtis Brondyke.
