For the second time in as many days, the Pella girls soccer team claimed a 1-0 victory – this time in a double overtime thriller over Grinnell.  Battling slick and muddy conditions, the Lady Dutch out-shot the Tigers in regulation 6-3, but neither team could crack the other’s defense.
Quality shots were hard to come by in the first overtime as well, as each team had two shots on goal, but still no scores.  Finally, with 2:58 remaining in the second overtime, a redirection pass from Lexi DeHeer gave Allie DeMeulenaere the opportunity the Pella girls needed, as she rattled home the game-winning goal.
With the win over No. 14-ranked Grinnell, the fourth-ranked Lady Dutch will now take on another tough 2-A foe, as they face No. 7-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday.  With the win, Pella is 11-3 overall this season and claims the Little Hawkeye Conference title.
