Over three dozen members of the Central College football team are currently in Italy as part of a nine-day team trip. The Dutch arrived this past Monday and will make stops in Rome, Florence, Venice and Trieste; while also getting in two practices and a game against an Italian football team.
International travel for the Central football team is a tradition that was started in 1990 by Hall of Fame coach Ron Schipper. The Dutch also traveled to Italy in 2007 and it was members on the current squad that voted to make the trip back again this time around. The team takes the trip every three or four years to allow every player the opportunity to travel.
The Central College football team is coming off of an 8-2 record in 2010.
